Questions people ask before they start
- Do I need my own IRS PIN?
- Yes. You sign your own return with a 5-digit self-select PIN of your choosing, any five digits except 00000. We cannot sign for you; federal law requires the taxpayer’s signature.
- The IRS rejected my return. What now?
- Open the filing and read the error the IRS returned. Most rejections are a mismatch between the business name and the EIN on file with the IRS, or a duplicate return for the same period. Correct it and transmit again. We do not charge our filing fee twice for the same return.
- How do I pay the tax itself?
- Separately from our fee. You can authorise the IRS to debit your bank account (EFW) as part of the filing, or pay yourself through EFTPS or by card at irs.gov. Choosing EFTPS or card means the tax is unpaid until you do it, and IRS penalties run from the deadline.
